Cancun, Q.R. — A man in his mid 30s reportedly died Tuesday by drowning off a Cancun beach. The man, who was a tourist to the city, was swept out to sea by strong waves off Playa Delfines.
The 35 year old Mexico City man was swept out to sea by the strong currents of Playa Delfines. Lifeguards were notified of the accident around 3:00 p.m. by the victim’s wife.
Cancun lifeguards rushed into the water in search of the man who they did locate after several minutes. He was returned to shore but unresponsive to CPR attempts.
