Man wanted for murder in Tabasco arrested during Cancun traffic stop

Cancun, Q.R. — A man wanted for murder in Tabasco was arrested in Cancun Tuesday during a traffic stop. SSC Police picked up Rodrigo “N” after assaulting them during a traffic stop.

Police said on Tuesday that a motorcycle being driven by Rodrigo “N” passed them, nearly causing an accident. He was intercepted on Avenida Tules in SM 247 where, when running his identification, police learned he was wanted for homicide in the state of Tabasco.

“During surveillance and prevention patrols, members of the Citizen Security Secretariat’s Investigation Group (Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana – SSC) were overtaken by the driver of a green and black motorcycle, nearly causing a traffic accident,” SSC reported.

“The man was intercepted on Avenida Tules and Segunda Los Almendros and Paseos del Durazno Street in SM 247, block 5 in Cancun. During the interview, the individual began insulting officers and attempted to physically attack them.

“A check of his information with the C5 Security Complex confirmed that he had an outstanding arrest warrant for homicide in the state of Tabasco,” they said.

The motorcycle, with Quintana Roo state license plates that he was driving, was seized during his arrest. He will be presented before the state’s FGE to face additional charges.
