Cancun, Q.R. — The Office of the Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo reports that as a result of investigations, they were able arrest Alejandro E for the crime of rape to the detriment of a victim of reserved identity.
Prosecutors were successful in obtaining two years of preventive detention as a precautionary measure. The FGE says Alejandro E was detained by police inside a ranch on the Mérida-Puerto Juárez highway after complying with a search warrant requested to enforce the arrest warrant issued since October 2019.
Investigative police complied with the arrest warrant at a ranch located at kilometer 22 of the Puerto Juárez-Mérida highway derived from a search carried out on instruction of a judge. The warrant was issued in October of 2019 after which time Alejandro E was alleged to have committed rape against a 9-year-old person in a house located in region 95. He later fled, hiding in the aforementioned place.
The detainee is being held at CERESO in the municipality of Benito Juárez.
