Cancun, Q.R. — A man remains hospitalized in serious condition after being hit in an intersection by a Cancun taxi driver. The accident happened in Region 101 at José López Portillo and Chac Mool avenues Monday night.
The pedestrian was struck by the taxi and tossed up onto the hood and into the windshield of the vehicle, leaving him with serious injuries. The driver of the taxi did not stop at the scene. Instead, he continued driving. The severely damage unit was found abandoned by transit agents several blocks over.
Witnesses reported the driver of the taxi traveling at excessive speed. The car was towed to police facilities. The man remains in serious condition in a Cancun hospital.
