Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man that collapsed outside a coffee shop at a popular shopping center along Playa del Carmen’s busy Fifth Avenue died of an apparent heart attack.
The man, identified only as a 57-year-old British national, died after he suddenly collapsed while inside the shopping area. Paramedics were quick to respond to the Emergency 911 call, however, the man was pronounced on scene.
The area was cordoned off for authorities to conduct an investigation. There was no official word on if the man was a visitor or area resident. His name has not been released.
