Cancun, Q.R. — A man was arrested after trying to steal the safe from inside a Cancun grocery store Tuesday. Police made his arrest on Chetumal Avenue in block 260 after responding to a call.
It was after midnight when police received the call of a break in. Security surveillance caught the man on video entering the mini supermarket and attempting to remove the cash from the safe. The emergency center was notified.
When police arrived, the man was still inside and admitted to trying to remove the safe and its contents.
The unnamed detainee was placed at the disposal of the authorities of the State Attorney General’s Office for the delineation of responsibilities.
