Cancun, Q.R. — Two people were taken to Cancun hospital after one was shot in the Hotel Zone. The shooting happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Kilometer 4.5. The man and woman were off the main area of Kukulcán Boulevard when they were shot.
The man was shot in the head and rushed to hospital in critical condition. The woman received a flesh wound to her left foot. She was taken to hospital and treated.
Reports say the shooting was an attempted hit against the man and not a robbery as initially believed. One person has been detained in the shooting. The SSP of Benito Juarez arrested Homero “N” who they report, has a criminal history that includes robbery, gang membership, fighting on public roads and drug addiction.
