Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun Police say a man that was arrested for disobedience and resistance has been found with an outstanding warrant. The arrest of Michael Patrick “N” took place Friday after he evaded authorities he encountered on patrol.
Officers patrolling a residential area of the city noticed his attitude shift as he ran to avoid being seen by police. When they caught up with him, police say they learned he had an outstanding arrest warrant for fraud.

“Michael Patrick “N” has been arrested on suspicion of disobedience and resisting authority,” Cancun Police reported in a statement Friday. “The detainee is subject to an outstanding arrest warrant for fraud,” they added.
Officers from the Citizen Security Secretariat’s Grupo Orión working alongside personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy, were conducting patrols for surveillance and crime prevention when a man suddenly ran out and crossed the avenue.
“Upon noticing the police presence, he acted evasively, intending to flee the scene,” Cancun Police said adding that “officers verbally ordered him to stop, but he ignored the command. When they attempted to engage him through community policing efforts, the individual became hostile and began insulting the officers.”
According to police, Michael Patrick “N” was arrested on Xcaret Avenue, and despite repeated instructions from the officers, he persisted in his hostile behavior, pushed one of the officers, and attempted to flee.
Consequently, he was placed at the disposal of the Quintana Roo State Attorney General (FGE).
Cancun Police did not confirm the nationality of Michael Patrick “N” or provide information about his outstanding warrant for fraud.
