Cancun, Q.R. — The main suspect in the murder of two American residents in Cancun has been officially charged. On Friday, the State Attorney General (FGE) of Quintana Roo reported that David “N”, alias “Billy”, is facing charges of qualified homicide in their deaths.

According to the FGE, the American residents 28 year old Kayla “M and 33 year old Carlyott “P” were last seen on September 16, 2024. Police from the Kidnapping and Extortion Unit of Quintana Roo were successful in bringing the charges against David “N”.
Authorities have said that David “N” is facing charges of qualified homicide of the man and woman after being arrested on February 4, 2025 for drug dealing. The couple, both born in Cuba but with American residency, were vacationing Cancun for Independence Day in September of 2024 when they disappeared.

“The now accused is presumed responsible for having deprived an American couple of life who were last seen on September 16, 2024 in Cancun. Their relatives reported their disappearance on the 24th of the same month and year. After the connection, the presiding judge also imposed the precautionary measure of preventive detention for a term of two years for David “N”,” they said in an official statement.
