Cancun, Q.R. — A late night fire completely consumed a Cancun store. The small business was destroyed by the roaring blaze late Wednesday night. Cancun firemen were called to the scene on José López Portillo Avenue where they spend nearly an hour battling flames.
Nearby residents made the 9-1-1 call after seeing a thick column of smoke coming from inside. By the time firemen arrived, the smoke had turned to flames.
Municipal police officers were also at the scene keeping curious spectators away from the fire. The owners of the business arrived while firefighters were extinguishing the flames.
The entire store and the merchandise inside were destroyed by the fire. Civil Protection continue to work with firemen on an official cause. The store was shut at the time of the fire.
