Cancun, Q. R. — No injuries were reported in a late night gas explosion inside a Cancun bakery. Firemen and Civil Protection arrived after reports of the explosion.
Authorities arrived to find at least one large window had been completely blown out by the blast. According to the Cancun Fire Department, the blast happened at 11:38 p.m. Monday.
The C5 Centre of Cancun sent emergency personnel to the scene where they found the bakery shut, but with one full glass door blown out. Inspector Carlos Mario Lázaro arrived with three fire units and eight firemen.
It has been determined that the blast was the result of an accumulation of LP gas, however, firemen were still investigating to determine exactly where the gas accumulated and what caused it to explode.
Firemen and Civil Protection personnel left the area about an hour after arriving. No injuries were reported. The building did suffer a fair amount of material damage.
