Cancun, Q.R. — A lane change gone wrong has been blamed for a five car pileup on Colosio Boulevard. The chain-bang reaction happened Thursday afternoon when one of the vehicles accidently hit another.
According to the official Transit report, the accident happened when the driver of a van tried to move to the right lane, but collided with a Peugeot Boxer in the process. That colission caused the Boxer to collide with an Acura, which in turn hit a Honda pickup and finally a Honda Sienna.
All the affected vehicles were travelling on the same road and in the same direction, from south to north at the time of the initial collision. Despite the magnitude of the accident, no injuries were reported.
Cancun Transit were at the scene of the traffic chaos generated during one of the busiest times of the day along Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard. Each of the vehicles involved was damaged.
