Lack of driver care said cause of Cancun combi topple that injured seven

Cancun, Q.R. — Seven combi passengers were treated for minor injuries after an inner-city accident. Passengers on board the city transport van were injured after it crashed into a central median then a bus before overturning.

The crash happened just after midnight Monday. Other Cancun motorists who witnessed the crash made reports to 911. Transit officers along with Cancun firemen and paramedics attended to the request for assistance on Tulum Avenue, arriving to find the two-vehicle collision blocking traffic.

Seven people were transferred to two Cancun medical facilities. According to the Traffic Police report, combi driver Freddy “N” lost control of his unit due to lack of care and attention of road conditions.

His unit overturned after he lost control and hit the central median, skidding until the van collided with an oncoming bus. The overturned combi was eventually righted and towed away with extensive damage.
