Cancun, Q.R. — The jaws of life were used Friday night to free two people trapped in the cab of a truck. Cancun firemen used the hydraulic metal cutters to free them for hospital transfer from a multi vehicle wreck.
A small cargo truck and private car collided Friday night on the federal highway just south of the city of Cancun. Emergency personnel were sent to the scene of the accident where they found two totaled vehicles.
Inside one vehicle were two trapped occupants. Inside the other was a single male driver. All three were transferred to hospital Friday night.
Speed and careless driving have been the said cause of the crash.

In a briefing, Bomberos Cancun reported on their vehicle rescue on the Cancun-Playa del Carmen highway Friday.
“Members of the Cancun Fire Department responded to a vehicle accident on the Cancun-Playa del Carmen highway, near a hotel complex.
“Upon arrival, they confirmed a collision between two vehicles with people trapped inside one of them. Personnel immediately deployed rescue maneuvers using hydraulic tools, successfully extricating the occupants, who were then assessed and transported by medical services for treatment.
“The driver of the second vehicle involved also received pre-hospital care and was transported for medical evaluation.

“Drive with caution, respect speed limits, and maintain a safe following distance, especially on highways. In case of any emergency, report it immediately to the official number 911.”
