Cancun, Q.R. — On Friday night, an Isla Mujeres taxi driver was gunned down outside a Cancun convenience store. The man was shot dead when he exited the store. He fell face down onto the concrete parking lot as he approached the driver’s side of his taxi.
He was killed while his wife and young son were waiting in the vehicle. His wife called for an ambulance. Paramedics pronounced the man on scene.
Police arrived in response to the 10:00 p.m. shooting that took place along Kabah Avenue after several area resident reports of gunfire. The man was hit by the gunfire multiple times.
The deceased Isla Mujeres taxi driver has not been publicly identified.
