Cancun, Q.R. — Police continue to investigate a business robbery in the Cancun Hotel Zone after security guards were assaulted and left tied up. The robbery happened early Tuesday morning inside a nautical accessories store at Kilometer 6.5 of Kukulcán Boulevard.
According to the security guards, several subjects arrived armed and physically assaulted them before tying them up and leaving them locked inside the bathroom. The thieves made off with merchandise and cash. They also took a company van.
Staff arriving for the morning shift found the tied up security guards. Tourist Police from the Hotel Zone were first on scene later followed by Ministerial Police. The company van that was stolen was found abandoned in SM 62 several hours later.
