Cancun, Q.R. — Police in Cancun arrested three people believed connected to city drug trafficking and extortion. The two men and one woman were taken into custody from the parking lot of Playa Tortugas in the Cancun Hotel Zone Wednesday.
SSC officers made the arrests after a “corresponding inspection”, they reported in a statement. “Oscar Arturo “N”, Rogelio “N” and Rufina “N” were arrested “on Kukulkán Boulevard KM 6.5 in the Hotel Zone, in the Playa Tortugas parking lot where the corresponding inspection was carried out,” the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana de Q.Roo said.
During their arrests, police reported finding 70 transparent plastic bags with green vegetables with characteristics similar to marijuana and 12 transparent plastic bags with solid fragments with characteristics similar to crystal among their personal items.
“It is presumed that the now detained are involved in the so-called collection of floor rights. If you recognize them, report them,” they added.
