Cancun, Q.R. — A man wanted for real estate fraud after bouncing a 1.5 million peso check has been arrested in Miami. Police said Tuesday that an arrest warrant was executed against Theojaris Miguel “N” with assistance from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Theojaris Miguel “N” was picked up on an outstanding warrant after allegedly writing the 1.5 million peso check in Cancun in 2020.
The State Attorney General (FGE), in collaboration with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR), and Interpol Mexico, executed an arrest warrant against Theojaris Miguel “N”.
The FGE identified the suspect as Theojaris Miguel “N” who they said was taken into custody for “his probable participation in acts possibly constituting the crime of specific fraud.
Police said Theojaris Miguel “N” also had an Interpol Red Notice.
“Initial investigations link the detainee to the person who conducted real estate transactions with the victim to whom he allegedly delivered a check for 1.5 million pesos in April 2020, but when he tried to cash it, it bounced,” the FGE (Fiscalía General del Estado) said.
Theojaris Miguel “N” was arrested in Miami, Florida. He was transferred to the FGR facilities in Matamoros, Tamaulipas before being transferred to Cancun where he will face charges.
