Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — More than 900 police officers from the municipality of Solidaridad have been summoned for anti-doping tests. According to the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC) of Quintana Roo, hundreds of officers participated in state’s ongoing campaign as part of their job.
Solidaridad officers began the process Thursday by providing urine samples. The SSC reported that the tests are not only part of their job, but are also necessary to be able to renew their weapons license.
“Yesterday the anti-doping test was implemented on the more than 900 elements of the Secretariat of Public Security and Municipal Transit of Solidaridad.
“Committed to the security of Solidaridad through a reliable and transparent Municipal Police, this test is also part of the requirements established to have a collective license for firearms,” the agency reported.
At the beginning of May, Cozumel police also participated in the anti-doping tests. Shortly afterward, more than 440 officers of Othón P. Blanco were also subjected to the mandatory drug test.
