Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun’s FGE reported the finding of human skeletal remains in a jungle area of Alfredo V Bonfil on the outskirts of Cancun. The discovery was made Tuesday. Investigators from Missing Persons were part of the on-site investigation team.
On Wednesday morning, the FGE reported that “derived from investigations by the prosecution of disappeared persons, yesterday the discovery of skeletal remains was made that is presumed to belong to persons reported as missing in a context of violence.
“These bones were visualized in a jungle area of the Alfredo V Bonfil ejido. Specialized experts accompanied by personnel from the State Personnel Search Commission are in the area.”
In total, three areas with human skeletal remains were found in the Alfredo V. Bonfil Ejido in superblock 308, just 7 kilometers from Cancun. Experts, accompanied by personnel from the State Search Commission, continued their search for additional remains before extracting the bodies.
