Cancun, Q.R. — Six vehicles were involved in a roadway crash outside Cancun Tuesday. A semi driver was heading west when he came upon a line of slowed traffic headed by a double-long semi turning off the highway.
Failing to stop in time, the pileup began. The fast moving semi clipped two other semis at the bottom of an overpass before ramming into a small cargo truck that was left on its side.
Three private vehicles, a Tsuru, SUV and hatchback were also involved. While the black hatchback suffered exterior damage and a popped back window, the SUV ended up under the semi.
An SUV following behind rolled, landing on its roof partially under the semi after hitting the side of the heavy unit. Numerous highway police and ambulances were at the scene where only one person was found with serious injuries.
