Cancun, Q.R. — A woman who worked in the construction sector was shot and killed Wednesday morning. The shooting happened in central Cancun on Tulum Avenue.
According to initial reports, the woman was walking through the area intending to board a vehicle when an armed man approached and shot her repeatedly. Several people who were in the area at the time witnessed the shooting.
Paramedics were called to assist the women, however, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Municipal police established a security perimeter around the crime scene in SM 23 while foresnic personnel removed the body.
Police have not commented publically on the shooting. The woman was reported to be in her early 30s. Her name has not been released.
