Group picked up in Cancun found with dozens of debit and credit cards

Cancun, Q.R. — A group arrested on drug charges are now being investigated for card cloning. On Saturday, the two men and two women were taken into custody for drug dealing after being arrested from SM 221.

During their arrests, police found dozens of debit and credit cards inside the glove box of their vehicle. Authorities say they are now being investigated for belonging to a criminal group dedicated to card cloning.

In custody are Juan Vicente “N”, John Alex “N”, Mariana “N”, and Ana Rebecca “N”.

According to the state Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC), “they are allegedly linked to a criminal group dedicated to cloning credit cards. Officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle.

“The incident occurred on the corner of 82nd Street and 93rd Street in SM 221 of Cancun where they identified the vehicle. During the corresponding inspection, the following were seized: 81 transparent bags containing a green plant that resembled marijuana and a white Chevrolet Aveo vehicle containing 50 department and bank cards inside the glove compartment.”
