Cancún, Q.R. — The government of Quintana Roo has reclaimed a property of more than 8,400 square meters in Puerto Juarez in Cancun.
In a press release, the state government says that in a bid to fight corruption, the recovery of land that belongs to the heritage of Quintana Roo was reclaimed Wednesday. The 8,437 square meter parcel was acquired and sold by a previous government official.
However, in a trial, the Civil Court of Chetumal granted the return of the land to the government of the state. Eduardo Ortiz Jasso of the Agency of Strategic Projects of Quintana Roo, complied with the precautionary measure granted with respect to the property.
The government says that judgment will continue against the corresponding person(s) who acquired the property in an irregular manner during the past administration.
