Cancun, Q.R. — Police say Héctor Alejandro “N”, who served as the general manager of a maritime transport company, has been charged with extortion. He was arrested October 22 and has since also been charged with drug dealing.

The State Attorney General (FGE) reported that Héctor Alejandro “N” has been charged with drug dealing and extortion of a maritime transport company after investigative agents executed an arrest warrant against him last week.
Authorities said according to their investigations, Héctor Alejandro “N” served as the company’s general manager. He is charged with allegedly participating in extortion calls directed at the owners, demanding the suspension of internal audits which were being carried out due to a financial shortfall detected by the owners of the maritime company.
“In court, the judicial authority decreed the order to formally charge Héctor Alejandro “N” for his probable participation in extortion crimes. Likewise, the accused was linked to the process for drug dealing in the variant of supplying the narcotic called marijuana,” they said.
The presiding judge has ordered Héctor Alejandro “N” to remain jailed for the duration of his trial.
