Gang members arrested for possession connected to Cancun murders

Cancun, Q.R. — Gang members connected to two murders and a criminal drug distribution group are in custody in Cancun. Police said Wednesday that two of the men have been connected to two Cancun murders that happened yesterday morning.

The four men were taken into custody in separate arrests in coordination with the FGE and National Guard. Two of them were found in possession of a loaded firearm, ammo and substances similar to narcotics.

Antonio “N”, alias “Toño” and Julio “N”, alias “Pelón” were found in possession of a 9-millimeter caliber pistol with a loaded magazine, as well as an additional magazine and various doses of suspected narcotics.

Edgar “N”, alias “Grande” and Pedro Alberto “N”, alias “Güero”, were found in possession of various narcotics during their arrests.

Investigative Police said that two of their suspects were involved in the a double murder that happened yesterday morning in a residential area of Cancun. “On February 3, two people were killed in SM 247 in the Villas Otoch subdivision of Cancun,” police said Wednesday.

Authorities did not identify which two of their suspects are alleged responsible for those February 3 murders.

Police said all four were arrested within the last 24 hours and are connected to a violent criminal group that distributes drugs across Cancun.
