Cancun, Q.R. — A fugitive wanted for the abduction and dismemberment of a Cancun man has been captured in the state of Coahuila. Over the weekend, Quintana Roo authorities reported on the capture of Óscar Melchor “N”, alias “El 18”, wanted for aggravated homicide.
Óscar Melchor “N” was wanted in connection to the April 19, 2021 abduction and eventual murder of a Cancun man whose body was found dismembered inside a vehicle that had been burned.
His capture and subsequent return to Quintana Roo was in collaboration with the FGE (Fiscalía General del Estado) of Coahuila.
In a statement, the FGE of Quintana Roo said “as part of inter-institutional work, the State Attorney General’s Office, in collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Coahuila, executed an arrest warrant against Óscar Melchor “N”, alias “El 18”, wanted for his alleged involvement in events that could constitute the crime of aggravated homicide. The arrest took place in Saltillo, Coahuila.”
Óscar Melchor “N”, alias “El 18” was located in the city if Saltillo due to an ongoing investigation by Cancun authorities. Once found, police took him into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant.

“He was transferred by Investigative Police, by air, to the municipality of Benito Juárez, arriving early Saturday at the Cancún International Airport,” they said.
Under heavy guard by the Navy Secretariat, Citizen Security Secretariat and the Investigative Police of the FGE, he was transferred from the airport and admitted into Social Reintegration Center (Cereso) of Cancun.
