Cancun, Q.R. — Police in Cancun report the arrest of four youths after they were found joy riding in a stolen taxi. The unit in which they were driving belonged to an Isla Mujeres taxi driver.
Police say the two males and two females were taken into custody in Region 249 of Cancun after a patrol noticed the driver of the taxi suddenly accelerated upon seeing him. A pursuit began, however, police were successful in out-maneuvering the young driver, stopping the car.
All four were instructed to get out of the car, which had already been reported as stolen. Inside the vehicle, police found a knife and a toy gun. Taken into custody was 25-year-old Karla N, 22-year-old Amairani N, 26-year-old Guillermo N and 25-year-old Michelle Alexis N.
