Cancun, Q.R. — Four men have been arrested for the alleged participation in the kidnapping of a man during which time, they impersonated ministerial police agents.
The arrest took place in Cancun after a 911 call was received from a man who said he was forcefully placed into an SUV at gunpoint. The incident happened September 7 when emergency personnel received the call at 2:13 p.m. from SM 259 of Cancun.
The victim said four men beat him and forced him into an SUV at gunpoint before driving off. He was able to call 911 for help, telling emergency personnel that the four claimed to be ministerial agents. Cancun police were quick to the area and able to locate the vehicle in SM 212.
After a pursuit, the vehicle was stopped and inspected. Police found numerous weapons, rounds of ammunition, metal handcuffs, balaclavas and tactical gear.
Police have reported the arrest of Octavio N, Ricardo N, Carlos Iván N and Kevin Hazael N for their probable participation in the crimes of kidnapping, carrying firearms and usurpation of public functions.
After their arrest, the victim was treated by medical personnel for his injuries.
