Local authorities confirmed the discovery, noting both bodies were male. On Wednesday, the State Attorney General (FGE) announced the arrests of four people for those deaths.

Three men and one woman are in police custody “for the murder of two people who were found burned inside the former General Hospital located in Superblock 65 of Cancun,” the FGE reported.

Jorge Alberto “N,” alias “Corino”, Antoni Iván “N,” alias “Tony”, Deni David “N” and Mónica Elizabeth “N” have been arrested “for their alleged involvement in acts possibly constituting the crime of aggravated homicide against two victims,” they said.

“Initial investigations by the Investigative Police indicate that the now detained individuals, along with others, entered the aforementioned property on the afternoon of July 7 of this year with one of the victims, who was already severely beaten, and continued assaulting him. They later arrived with another man, whom they also beat to death.

The two men were beaten to death and found burned under a pile of garbage inside an old hospital building.

“After making sure the victims were dead, they placed them in a corner and piled garbage on top of them, then set them on fire,” authorities said, adding that the possible motive for the murder of the two men is that they allegedly stole a motorcycle belonging to Antoni Iván “N”.
