Four detained for murder and attempted murder in Cancun

Cancun, Q.R. — Four males have been arrested for the November murder of a woman and October attempted murder of a man. The three adults and one minor were taken into custody by elements of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office, the SSyPC, Navy, National Defense Secretariat, National Guard and the Citizen Security Secretariat of Quintana Roo.

In custody are Alan Emmanuel “N”, Veymar “N”, Raúl “N” and a minor teen. Veymar “N”, Raúl “N” and the teen were arrested in “related to the homicide of a male which occurred on November 1 of this year, in the Villas Otoch subdivision in Supermanzana 259,” Cancun police have said.

“Initial investigations indicate that the captured men injured the victim with a firearm around midnight when she refused to hand over her belongings. She died hours later.”

Arrested at the same time was Alan Emmanuel “N”, who was wanted for attempted murder. According to police, Alan Emmanuel “N” was arrested for attempted homicide, which occurred on October 4 of this year, in Supermanzana 259 of the Villas Otoch Subdivision when he injured a male with a firearm,” they reported.

Cancun police say their investigations establish that the four detainees are members of a violent criminal group that sells drugs in the municipality of Benito Juárez.
