Cancun, Q.R. — Four men have been reportedly arrested for their alleged participation in the robbery of an ATM. The robbery was reported early Monday by employees of a Cancun gas station.
Staff said that around 3:00 a.m., a group of armed men stormed the premises and made off with the machine, loading it into a waiting vehicle. Once police gathered details, a search operation was quickly launched for the vehicle and its occupants.
The vehicle used in the heist was located along with four men and some of the cash. Police say they have arrested 22-year-old Daniel N, 26-year-old Edson N, 28-year-old Bernardo N and Santiago N, also 28. The four were found in possession of 37,000 peso in cash, which police believe is part of the cash from the machine.
They also added that the machine’s GPS system has placed it, abandoned in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, which they say, indicates that more people participated in the robbery.
