Former Cancun doctor charged with murder facing new charges of botched plastic surgery

Cancun, Q.R. — A man already imprisoned for the murder of a Playa del Carmen woman has had new charges laid against him. The former Cancun doctor identified as Ulises “N” is being accused of a botched plastic surgery performed in 2013.

“The events for which Ulises “N” is accused occurred on May 16, 2013, in a clinic located on Nichupté Avenue in SM 19 of Cancun when the victim, a female, underwent cosmetic surgery which left her with physical after-effects.

“Following the complaint filed in May 2014, which was unsuccessful due to various inconsistencies in the preliminary investigation, the Public Prosecutor’s Office resubmitted the file to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in September 2023, providing the deficiencies specified by the Federal Judge.

“Subsequently, on July 11 of this year, the Seventh Criminal Chamber revoked the First Instance Resolution, granting the arrest warrant against Ulises “N” for his probable responsibility in the crime of negligent injuries,” the State Attorney General (FGE) reported.

In their statement, the FGE (Fiscalía General del Estado) also said that Ulises “N” remains incarcerated for his “participation in the crime of femicide against a female victim which occurred on February 3, 2019, in Playa del Carmen.”

Authorities did not provide information on the Playa del Carmen murder.
