Cancun, Q.R. — Five people from a violent criminal gang related to drug dealing and murder have been arrested in Cancun. Police made the arrests in two operations Friday.

Agents reported capturing Abraham “N” while he was driving a motorcycle on Arco Norte Avenue, between Palma Canario and Palma Paraíso, in Supermanzana 260.
He was was found in possession of a 9mm caliber pistol with loaded magazines, substances resembling marijuana, crystal meth and crack cocaine.
Marcos Antonio “N”, Edén Israel “N”, Eliseo “N” and Naydelin del Carmen were also arrested Friday. They were taken into custody during surveillance patrols on Isla de Pascua Street between Isla Haití Avenue and Isla Tunes in Supermanzana 251.

Arresting officers found them in possession of various quantities of green herb with characteristics similar to marijuana, as well as substances with the appearance of crystal and crack, in addition to cartridges.
According to initial police investigations, all five allegedly belong to a violent criminal group dedicated to selling drugs in the municipality.
Police say they are also linked to the homicide of a male that occurred on October 28 of this year in Supermanzana 251 in Paseos del Mar.
