Five people taken for questioning in disappearance of Cancun dancer

Cancun, Q.R. — Five people have been taken for questioning in the disappearance of a female dancer from a Cancun nightclub. Police and elements of the National Guard arrived at The Phoenix in SM 95 after reports of her missing.

Preliminary information says the bar manager was paid a sum of money for the female dancer to leave the bar and provide services for a customer, however, she did not return to The Phoenix at the agreed upon time.

The woman’s family filed an official missing person’s report, which mobilized police into arresting five people from The Phoenix nightclub. Taken into custody were the manager, one bartender, two waiters and the fifth, an alleged minor.

Investigators were also on site collecting evidence that could lead to her whereabouts.

The Phoenix was once the nightclub La Premier, which was closed down in 2019 after two partners were executed in separate shootings.
