Cancun, Q.R. — Five members of an alleged drug trafficking group have been linked to the process of qualified homicide for their alleged involvement in a shooting that took place in SM 237 of Cancun.
In a statement, the State Attorney General’s Office reported that elements of the Ministerial Police executed arrest warrants on August 7, for the crime of qualified homicide. On August 14, all five were brought before a judge who found them linked to the crime that occurred August 3 in the Loma Bonita neighborhood of Cancun.
The arrested, who are believed part of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, have been identified as Luis M, Fabricio C, David D, Alexis R and Juan G. All five men will remain in preventative detention during their trials.
At the time of their arrests in SM 100, a total of seven people were taken into custody. Four firearms, a red Mazda and a motorcycle were seized.
