Five arrested in Merida being investigated for violent robberies in Cancun

Cancun, Q.R. — Five people in Merida are under investigation for their alleged involvement in violent robberies in the city of Cancun. The three men and two women became persons of interest after their arrests Monday night in the city of Merida.

All five were apprehended by police during a street operation in the Juan Pablo II subdivision from where narcotics were located. Initially, three people were being inspected during the street operation when two men arrived and attempted to interfere in police business.

That interference got them arrested. Taken into custody was 26-year-old Pablo Yeraldo C.A., Yahaira Montserrat V.H. 30, and Susan Yulissa P.L, 25. Taken in for interfering was 33-year-old José Arturo A.M. and 40-year-old José Antonio C.C.

A background check revealed the possibility of them being involved in, or responsible for violent robberies in the Cancun area. The FGE is continuing their investigation.
