Cancun, Q.R. — Five people have been taken into custody for the kidnapping of two from Cancun. On Saturday, Enrique Uriel “N”, Gerardo “N”, Adrián “N”, Rubén Octavio “N” and Yanira “N” were arraigned on charges of the kidnapping of two unidentified victims from July.
According to investigations, the five are alleged “to have kept two people deprived of liberty in a building in the Paseos del Mar subdivision of Cancun.” The victims were kidnapped July 28 of this year.
The five kidnappers “demanded that relatives hand over a large sum of money to release them,” the State Attorney General (FGE) reported. The two kidnapping victims were rescued “through a joint operation between the Secretary of Citizen Security and the Investigative Police,” they added.

The victims were rescued unharmed. The five now-accused were arrested from the scene. The presiding Cancun judge ordered all five to remain imprisoned for the duration of their trial.
