Firemen on site after electrical failure smokes out Cancun restaurant

Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun firefighters were sent to a restaurant on Cobá Avenue Sunday in response to a fire. The restaurant in SM 25 was filled with thick smoke by the time firemen arrived.

Firefighters, Civil Protection and Public Safety personnel were the emergency response team after the 9-1-1 report was made. The restaurant was closed at the time of the report. Firemen forced their way through a front door to access the source.

An air conditioner was found smoking that left a section of the restaurant’s kitchen an dining area in ruins. Cancun firemen reported briefly on the Sunday fire.

“Fire in commercial premises. Our Cancun Fire Department team responded to a fire at an Asian restaurant. Thanks to our team’s swift intervention, the fire was contained and extinguished, preventing it from spreading to nearby establishments.

“Fortunately, no injuries were reported. We thank the public for their cooperation and remind everyone of the importance of maintaining gas and electrical systems in businesses and homes. In case of emergency, call 911. Always ready to serve Cancun.”
