Firemen encounter roof collapse during late night Cancun warehouse fire

Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun firemen were at the scene of a late night warehouse fire in El Milagro. Rescue and emergency teams were sent to the outskirts of the city to attend to a building fire filled with mattresses.

Elements of the Fire Department, along with Civil Protection and municipal authorities, opened traffic for the rescue teams’ vehicles. Once at the scene, firemen worked to put out the large blaze and prevent flames from spreading to other nearby buildings.

During fire extinguishing, firemen encountered a partial roof collapse, complicating their efforts. The entire building was devoured by flames. There were no injuries reported since the building was vacant at the time of the fire.

The building, located in the El Milagro neighborhood, was used as a warehouse to store mattresses. Cancun authorities will return to the site today to investigate a cause for the late night fire.
