Cancun, Q.R. — State officials say a shooting in residential Cancun that left three dead is related to drug trafficking. Three adults were shot to death in SM 251 Tuesday night.

Residents called for help after hearing blasts of gunfire from inside an apartment. When police arrived, they found three deceased adults in a hallway of Building F of the complex.
According to early information, two armed people stormed the apartment and shot their intended targets before fleeing. They left behind the motorcycle they arrived on. Area surveillance cameras are being used to identify and possibly locate those responsible.
At the scene, police found four children left behind by the three adults. The children range in ages from seven months to 14 years. State authorities confirmed the three adults had been shot to death and say they are continuing with their investigation.
“The Quintana Roo Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reports that following the events reported Tuesday night in Superblock 251 where three people were killed by gunshots, the first line of investigation is related to drug trafficking crimes.

“As part of its zero impunity strategies, this Social Representative has initiated an investigation and, in coordination with the security authorities stationed in the municipality, is working to find the person(s) responsible for this incident and bring them to justice.”
