FGE reports on arrest of Canadian for murder of Tulum police officer

Tulum, Q.R. — The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has released an official statement on the shooting death of a Tulum municipal officer and the subsequent arrest of the Canadian man accused of the shooting.

On Tuesday, the FGE reported on the capture of Patrick “C” on charges of homicide for the October 31 shooting death of a municipal police officer.

“According to the investigations, it was learned that a male person, apparently of Canadian nationality, detonated a firearm against a vehicle in the town of Francisco Hu May.

“Police from Tulum went to the scene to verify the report, however, without just cause, the aggressor fired shots at municipal agents, injuring one of them, who lost his life.

“After the attack, the subject entered his home, set it on fire and later left the place, which is why, in the face of the real and current aggression, members of the Coordination Group for the Construction of Peace and Security in Quintana Roo used levels of force according to the demanding circumstances at that time.”

The FGE went on to report that Partick “C” suffered a gunshot wound to the leg during his capture and was transferred to a Playa del Carmen hospital where he remains as a detainee under police guard.
