Cancun, Q.R. — Authorities in Cancun say they have detained a suspect accused of placing narco threat-messages around the city. Over the weekend, Luis Óscar “N” was picked up for drug dealing when police found him in possession of marijuana and crack cocaine.
Luis Óscar “N” was arrested in the Paseos del Mar subdivision in SM 251 after being stopped driving a motorcycle without plates. During an inspection, police located narcotics.
Since his arrest, authoritries say Luis Óscar “N” is also being investigated by the FGE for his alleged involvement in the placement of banners with threats against civilians, security forces and public servants.
State Attorney General Raciel López Salazar, firmly stated that threats against authorities or acts intended to disrupt public order and social peace through these types of messages will not be permitted.
“In Quintana Roo, as Governor Mara Lezama points out, there is no room for impunity. These acts of placing banners with threatening messages do not intimidate authorities. They are acts that are being investigated and will be punished,” he stated.

The State Attorney General’s Office reaffirms its commitment to legality, order and the security of the people of Quintana Roo, working in coordination with authorities at all levels of government to preserve the rule of law.
