Cancun, Q.R. — A reward of 500,000 pesos is being offered for information leading to the location and arrest of a woman wanted for murder. The State Attorney General (FGE) of Quintana Roo posted the reward notice Wednesday.
The woman, identified by the FGE as Catherine Sophie Francoise Tarin, is wanted for the alleged murder of her 10 year old stepdaughter. The murder of then 10-year-old Paloma “N” happened in Cancun in 2017. The remains of the little girl were eventually found burned in a park.
According to media reports, at the time of the murder, Tarin claimed the child was sent abroad to study, however, she became the main suspect in the murder after being reported to police by one of her biological sons.
Aside from Cancun, Tarin is reported to have had, at one point, an address in Guadalajara.
In a public statement, the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) of Quintana Roo posted “The FGE Quintana Roo offers a reward of $500,000 pesos to anyone who provides effective and reliable information that contributes to the search and arrest of the person identified as Catherine Sophie Francoise Tarin. If you have information on her whereabouts contact 998 221 7474.”
