FGE increases award for Italian considered fugitive from Cancun justice

Cancun, Q.R. — The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo is offering a 750,000 peso reward for information leading to the arrest of Maurizio Spinosi Hellies.

Maurizio Spinosi, who lived in Cancun, is an Italian citizen accused of sexually abusing his five-year-old daughter. He has been a fugitive since May 10, 2023 when an arrest warrant was issued.

In June, police were offereing a reward of 300,000 pesos, a reward that has since been increased to 750,000. The amount was increased in April after the case was reclassified after it initially lacked foresnic evidence.

The young girl, his daughter, currently lives with her mother Melissa “N” in Cancun.

The “FGE of Quintana Roo updates the reward of 750,000 pesos to anyone who provides effective and reliable information that contributes to the location and arrest of the person identified as Maurizio Spinosi. If you have information on his whereabouts, please call 998 221 7474,” they reported in a statement.
