Cancun, Q.R. — Two undocumented Guatemalans who attempted to fly from Cancun to Monterrey, Nuevo León were taken into police custody at the Cancun International Airport Friday.
The arrest was made after the pair were discovered trying to fly using false Quintana Roo identification. Each of the men presented a state driver’s license as their identification, however, federal police noticed discrepancies in the make of the licenses.
An inspection proved that the licenses were fake and the men were undocumented foreigners in the country. Taken into custody were two men identified only as J.N. and Pedro N, both from Guatemala.
Both were held for la Fiscalía General del Estado in Cancun.
