Cancun, Q.R. — Two Colombian nationals were taken into federal custody at the Cancun International Airport Tuesday, after they were found transporting cocaine.
Elements of the National Guard made the arrest, detaining the two Colombian citizens after they were found in possession of 35 packages cocaine. The discovery was made in Terminal 2 where they had arrived on a commercial flight from Bogotá.
The packages of cocaine were located in their luggage. Both were identified with passports belonging to the Republic of Colombia. They were arrested and transferred to facilities of the General Prosecutor’s Office where they will face drug-related charges.
