Fatal outcome in two motorcycle collision on busy Cancun avenue

Cancun, Q.R. — A fatal accident involving two motorcycles slowed early evening traffic in Cancun Monday. Emergency services attended to reports of the crash on a section of Bonampak Avenue where one driver was killed.

According to early information, a motorcyclist died after colliding with another motorcycle and crashing into a palm tree in the median.

According to the police report, the accident occurred at 5:05 p.m. when a black and red Suzuki Gixxer was traveling toward Puerto Cancun and invaded the left lane without caution, colliding with a black Italika Chopper motorcycle.

The driver of the Suzuki motorcycle died at the scene of the accident. He was found laying at the base of a palm tree in the centre of the avenue. His motorcycle was found a few feet away next to his body.

Traffic was slowed in the busy area near the entrance to the Cancun Hotel Zone. Police are investigating the official cause of the collision of the motorcycles that resulted in the fatal crash.
