Cancun, Q.R. — Two injured and extensive material damage was the reported result of an afternoon Cancun roadway accident. On Saturday, two people were taken to hospital after a combi and mototaxi collided in SM 251.
Dozens of onlookers arrived to watch the results of the 2:00 p.m. accident as paramedics transported the injured to hospital. Witnesses told police that the collision happened when the driver of the mototaxi ran a stop sign.
The small taxi unit rushed through an Avenida Isla San Pedro intersection where it collided with the oncoming public transport van. The impact caused the mototaxi to overturn. The van came to rest against the base of a concrete pole. The driver and passenger from the mototaxi were taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.
