Cancun, Q.R. — An SUV was destroyed and one person injured in a traffic accident early this morning. City police were called to the scene of the two vehicle collision at the intersection of 145th and La Rioja avenues in southern Cancun early Wednesday.
Police were called after the driver of a Hummer hit the back of a cargo truck, completely destroying his SUV. The accident was reported to emergency services shortly before 1:00 a.m. Wednesday along 145th Avenue.
According to the traffic report, the male driver of the Hummer lost control and slammed into the back of the parked semi. The vehicle was totaled. The driver of the SUV was rushed to Cancun hospital. Excessive speed is being factored into the accident.
